Which judicial district serves Churchill County
Under NRS 3.010, Nevada is divided into 11 judicial districts, and Churchill County belongs to the Tenth Judicial District. Churchill County is the only county in this district. For how the districts fit together statewide, see our map of Nevada's judicial districts.
The size of the district's bench is set by statute as well: the Tenth Judicial District has a single district judge under NRS 3.0195 . Under NRS 3.100, district courts hold court at the county seat of each of their counties — for Churchill County, court is held at the county seat, Fallon.
Churchill County is one of only two Nevada counties that forms a single-judge judicial district all by itself (Humboldt County is the other), so one district judge hears the county's felonies, family matters, probate, and larger civil cases in Fallon.
