Terms of Use
Effective date: July 15, 2026
These terms govern use of asknevadalaw.com ("the site"), published by Ask Nevada Law. Reading the site means these terms apply. They are written in plain language on purpose — the same standard the rest of the site is held to.
1. What this site is for
Ask Nevada Law publishes general, educational information about Nevada law. Every page is written to explain what the law says — what a statute provides, what a rule requires, where the official text lives. No page is written to tell a specific person what to do about a specific situation, and nothing on the site should be read that way.
2. No legal advice, no attorney–client relationship
Nothing on this site is legal advice. Ask Nevada Law is not a law firm, does not practice law, and does not employ attorneys to advise readers. Reading the site, citing it, or relying on it does not create an attorney–client relationship with anyone. Legal advice — the application of law to a particular person's facts — can only come from a licensed Nevada attorney who knows those facts.
3. No warranty of accuracy or currency
The site aims for accuracy, and its editorial standards require every legal statement to trace to an official source. Even so, the content is provided "as is," without any warranty that it is accurate, complete, or current. Laws change: the Nevada Legislature meets every two years, courts issue new decisions, and agencies revise regulations. A page that was correct when written can become outdated. Every statute or rule mentioned on this site should be checked against the official source it links to — the Nevada Legislature's site and the Nevada courts' sites are the controlling texts, not this one. Pages marked DRAFT — UNREVIEWED carry citations that have not yet been human-verified against the official source.
4. Limitation of liability
In plain language: use of this site is at the reader's own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ask Nevada Law is not liable for any loss or harm — including legal, financial, or other consequences — that results from reading, relying on, acting on, or failing to act on anything published here. Decisions with legal consequences deserve advice from a licensed Nevada attorney, not a website.
5. Copyright and public records
The original explanatory content on this site is © Ask Nevada Law. The Nevada statutes, regulations, and court materials that the site quotes are public records and belong to no one; quoting them here claims no rights over them. Readers may link to any page on this site freely.
6. Links to official sources
Pages on this site link to official sources — primarily the Nevada Legislature and the Nevada courts — so readers can verify every citation against the controlling text. Those links are provided for verification and convenience. External sites are not under Ask Nevada Law's control, and linking to them is not an endorsement, nor does it imply any affiliation. Ask Nevada Law is not affiliated with any government agency or the Nevada courts.
7. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from use of the site, are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its effective date shown at the top. Continued use of the site after a revision means the revised terms apply.
9. Contact
A contact page and public contact email are forthcoming. Until they are published, any updates to these terms will appear on this page.
