Which judicial district serves Pershing County

Under NRS 3.010, Nevada is divided into 11 judicial districts, and Pershing County belongs to the Eleventh Judicial District. The same district also covers Lander County and Mineral County . For how the districts fit together statewide, see our map of Nevada's judicial districts.

The size of the district's bench is set by statute as well: the Eleventh Judicial District has a single district judge under NRS 3.0197 . Under NRS 3.100, district courts hold court at the county seat of each of their counties — for Pershing County, court is held at the county seat, Lovelock ; the same judges also hold court in Battle Mountain for Lander County and in Hawthorne for Mineral County matters .

Pershing County is the third of the three counties served by a single shared district judge, with court held in Lovelock — the county seat — for Pershing matters and in Battle Mountain and Hawthorne for the district's other two counties. Township-level matters are handled by the Lake Township Justice Court, which also sits in Lovelock.

District court

The district court is Nevada's main trial court — the level that handles felonies, family matters, probate, and larger civil cases. The Eleventh Judicial District Court serves Pershing County, whose county seat is Lovelock.

Justice court

Justice courts are township-level courts that handle smaller civil claims, small claims, evictions, and misdemeanors. Pershing County is served by the Lake Township Justice Court in Lovelock.
