The definitions used throughout Nevada's constructional defect statutes, sections 40.600 to 40.695, come from the separate definition sections at 40.603 through 40.634. Unless context requires otherwise, terms such as claimant, contractor, subcontractor, design professional, constructional defect, residence, appurtenance, builder's warranty and supplier carry the specific meanings assigned in those individual sections rather than ordinary usage, so those definitions control how the notice, repair, mediation and damages provisions apply to both claimants and the contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals involved in a dispute.
